Report from the Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture & Tourism has confirmed that the Ekiti State Hospitality and Tourism Task Force (HTTF) will begin the enforcement of the Registration and Licensing Law from Monday 28th March, 2022.

The new Director in the Tourism & Hospitality Management Department of the Ministry, Mr. Adebanji Oyinade Adelusi made the confirmation on Friday in his office. Adelusi explained that the Ekiti State Tourism and Hospitality Licensing Law has been signed since 2020 and that the Ministry has given all relevant stakeholders enough time as moratorium to enable them take all necessary steps towards having their businesses legalised. He said the Hospitality Inspectorate Unit( H.I.U) would be going along with the Task Force to see that hospitality outlets in the State also comply with standard ethical codes in the management of the hospitality business across the State. Adelusi explained that there would be opportunity for owners of hotels, bars, eateries, restaurants, event centres etc to obtain their registration forms and get their registration certificates immediately during the enforcement visits. This is to reduce the tedium of the process and save time. The first phase of the enforcement, he said, would cover Ado-Ekiti and his environs. Written by: Omojola Michael.
